«El Grill» is a comedy that observes contemporary unease from a setting as everyday as a small flat in Barcelona. The story follows Laia and Guillem, a couple whose routine is disrupted by the appearance of a cricket which, night after night, interrupts the silence with its persistent chirping.

That seemingly insignificant sound begins to seep into the characters' lives as an uncomfortable presence. The insect becomes a persistent metaphor: a kind of conscience that keeps resonating and forces the couple to confront what they preferred to ignore. The place where they live, the job stability that never arrives, the cost of a changing city and the emotional wear of living together gradually emerge in the conversation.
From a minimal detail, the play opens up an ironic reflection on very recognisable issues: precarity, gentrification and the doubts that run through relationships when everyday life becomes too constricting.
Written and directed by Dani Amor and Serapi Soler, and produced by Flyhard Produccions, the piece is performed by Anna Bertran and Jose Pérez-Ocaña. With a running time of 75 minutes and in Catalan, «El Grill» turns the smallest noise into a question impossible to silence.
