King Lear's fool recovers one of Shakespeare's most lucid characters to place him at the centre of the stage. Through a contemporary reinterpretation, Felipe Cabezas transforms the classic tragedy into a pointed monologue that uses humour, irony and satire to speak about a world where power continues to repeat the same mistakes.

The play begins at the moment King Lear divides his kingdom among his daughters, a decision that unleashes a struggle of ambitions and conflicts. However, the story is told through the eyes of the fool, the only one able to challenge the king with truth disguised as mockery. From this privileged position, the show establishes a dialogue between Shakespeare's England and today's society, addressing issues such as inequality, cultural policies, the role of elites and class tensions.
Felipe Cabezas is the writer, director and performer of this production, in which he combines masks, changes of register and staging of great visual power. The soundtrack, created exclusively with sounds generated by the actor himself, adds a distinctive dimension to a proposal committed to a dynamic and intense stage language.
Performed in Spanish and lasting 75 minutes, the play demonstrates that the great classics remain a sharp tool for questioning the present.
