Show “Dones valentes”
“Dones valentes” is a theatre piece that gives names and voices to realities that often arrive in fragments through headlines. Joumana, Samar, Gulan, Hiyam, Khadija, Benchymar, Lara, Maya, Nancy and Samir share the stage from geographies such as Lebanon, Gaza, Rojava, Iraqi Kurdistan, Syria and Afghanistan. Their stories speak of the present, ongoing conflicts and lives marked by violence, but also by dignity.

The show draws an emotional map made of resilience, rebellion and empathy. Each testimony reveals the everyday strength of women who support their communities, challenge impositions and seek spaces of freedom in adverse contexts. It is not only about denouncing, but about listening to and understanding the complexity of paths marked by war, exile or the struggle for basic rights.
Directed by Glòria Balañà i Altimira, written by Txell Feixas Torras and produced by Teatre Lliure, the work has a cast that embodies these voices with restraint and commitment. In Catalan and lasting 90 minutes, “Dones valentes” invites audiences to look directly at stories from today’s world that challenge them without distance.
