Dinamarca borrows a title that inevitably awakens echoes of Shakespeare, but transforms it into an intimate, silent territory where the real conflict takes place far from grand palaces. Directed by Albert Arribas, the play once again immerses itself in Lluïsa Cunillé’s universe to build a story where the passage of time weighs as heavily as memories.

In a precarious flat in central Copenhagen, an elderly woman and her son survive trapped in a routine marked by weariness and a sadness that has settled in almost like a habit. Life seems to move forward without shocks, slow and muted, until something changes one winter afternoon. Old wounds, presences from the past and never-resolved tragedies burst in to disrupt a balance that was already fragile.
The play moves between the everyday and the unsettling, between what is said and everything that remains suspended in silence. Rather than answering whether something is rotten in Denmark, the proposal seems to ask what happens when illusions wear away and personal ghosts return to demand an accounting. A sober, delicate story about memory and what never quite disappears.
