«[AGON]IA» places the audience in a space where silence weighs as heavily as emptiness. This science-fiction theatre proposal follows an astronaut sent to the Ícare orbital station on a mission designed to take human endurance to the limit: a whole year in solitude, far from any contact with Earth.
About this event
At first, everything goes according to plan. The systems work, routines repeat themselves, isolation seems controlled. But something begins to fail. Sounds that should not exist, unexplained vibrations, messages that appear and disappear without leaving a trace. Technology denies everything, but perception insists.
As the mission progresses, the feeling of being watched intensifies. The protagonist is no longer only facing outer space, but also a presence that seems to watch her and measure her every movement. In that enclosed environment, where oxygen runs out and the mind searches for reference points, the boundary between the real and the imagined becomes unstable.
Performed by Berta Pipó and produced by Cia. del Corb, directed by Victòria Boixadera, «[AGON]IA» poses an uncomfortable question: what remains of a person when others disappear, when there is no external gaze to confirm them.
A 65-minute Catalan-language production that uses science fiction to speak about a profoundly contemporary unease: the need to be seen.
