“Trinh T. Minh-ha Retrospective” Film Series

Nine films—shot across continents, languages and times—reveal a body of work that does not seek to explain, but to provoke. Trinh turns the camera into a tool for thought: she does not film others, she films with them. Her works, fundamental to postcolonial and feminist studies, are also exercises in listening, where silence carries as much weight as speech.

The opening session will include her presence, an unusual opportunity to talk with an artist who has made displacement her home and language her battleground.

The series enters into dialogue with the exhibition “Seen but Not Seen”, at La Virreina Centro de la Imagen, and together they form a portrait of an author who continues to erase the borders between documentary and fiction, art and politics, body and territory.

More than a retrospective, this is an invitation to look again—and to doubt everything we thought we had seen.
