“Petites històries, grans dones” series

Once again, the Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya joins the celebration of outstanding female figures with the event “Petites històries, grans dones”. This series of stories focuses on honouring Catalan women who have left their mark in fields such as science, art and various professions, integrating them into the history, collections and content of the participating museums.

Each session establishes a dialogue between heritage and the present, bringing together real figures connected with the collections or history of each participating museum. The journey begins at the Museu Marítim de Barcelona with navigator Míriam Artacho and continues with researcher Lídia Freixas at the Museu de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona. Contemporary ceramics take centre stage with Sophie Aguilera at the Museus d'Esplugues de Llobregat, while Marta Lloret Blackburn reclaims the memory of the rural world at the Museu d'Història de Catalunya.

The series also looks towards sport with Paula Blasi at the Museu Olímpic and culminates at the Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya with the historical figure of Cleopatra, a symbol of political intelligence and strategy.
