Latin American Film Festival in Barcelona

LATcinema Fest returns to Barcelona with a fifth edition that confirms its place as a meeting point for those seeking cinema that faces reality head on. From 16 to 22 March, Cinemes Girona hosts a week of screenings bringing together 22 titles from different corners of Latin America and the Caribbean, drawing an audiovisual map as diverse as it is restless.

Far from a single perspective, the festival offers a constant crossroads of genres, accents and sensibilities. Stories born in Venezuela, Peru, Mexico or Argentina coexist in a programme that does not avoid conflict but does not give up beauty or imagination either. Each session becomes a space for conversation, especially thanks to the presence of eleven guest filmmakers who accompany their films and talk with the audience.

This edition focuses on Daniel Giménez Cacho, the subject of a retrospective that traces his career and also reveals his directorial debut. An opportunity to look closely at one of the key names in Ibero-American cinema.
