Open day at the Sant Pau modernist site to mark its 625th anniversary

The celebration recalls the origins of an institution founded in 1401 to serve the population of medieval Barcelona and which, over the centuries, has evolved to become one of the city's major healthcare and heritage landmarks. To commemorate this history, the programme offers an open day for local residents and visitors, where music, storytelling and dance will share the spotlight.

Throughout the day there will be storytelling sessions inspired by the figure of nurse Adela Simón, concerts by Cor Vivaldi and the Ara Martí Quartet, as well as a lied jam organised together with Fundación Victoria de los Ángeles. The festive atmosphere will culminate in swing music and dancing in the gardens, with Asociación BCN Swing.

Among modernist pavilions and historic spaces, the day invites visitors to explore Sant Pau from a different perspective: not only as a monument or former hospital, but as a living place that continues to form part of Barcelona's memory and cultural life.

Admission and opening times – The day will take place on Sunday 15 March 2026 from 9:30 to 19:00 (according to cultural listings), with free admission upon prior registration.

Registration – You must register on the venue's website to obtain the free ticket; each family activity (such as the storytelling session) requires specific registration.

Location – Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau, Sant Antoni Maria Claret 167, 08025 Barcelona. It can be reached by metro (L4 Sant Pau-Dos de Maig) or bus.
