Catalonia Human Rights Film Festival «Impacte!»
From 24 March to 13 April, cinemas fill with uncomfortable truth and committed beauty in the fifth edition of Impacte! Catalonia Human Rights Film Festival. In times of setbacks and authoritarian discourse, this festival proposes resistance from the screen, backing art as a tool for social transformation.
About this event
Under the slogan «The right against rights», Impacte! dares to look directly at issues many prefer to silence: the authoritarian offensive, the Palestinian tragedy, repression in Iran, migrant struggles, feminisms and LGTBIQ+ rights, among others. It does so with 45 films —21 features, 4 medium-length films and 20 shorts— that not only inform, but move, question and drive debate.
Separats, by Oscar-winning Errol Morris, will open this edition marked by major names such as Amos Gitai, Eduard Fernández and the eagerly awaited preview of the documentary Pirineus. El mur invisible, produced by 3Cat.
The festival will take place in Barcelona, Cambrils, Figueres and Vilafranca del Penedès, and also online through Filmin and its website. Because Impacte! is not just a festival: it is a jolt of conscience, an invitation to look beyond the headline, and a way to defend rights... through cinema.
