6th Festival u22 de cinema jove de Barcelona
Between 25 and 29 September, Barcelona celebrates young creativity with the 6th Festival u22 de cinema jove, a showcase for new voices in Catalan cinema and beyond. This event, which selects 20 short films by young talents under 23 from more than 350 submitted works, has become a vital bridge for future filmmakers to the global industry.
About this event
The festival not only delights in premieres at both international and Catalan level, but also delves into the industry through a range of activities. These include everything from workshops to debates and retrospectives, with this year’s highlight being the u22 LAB, an innovative screenwriting laboratory led by Arnau Vilaró, the acclaimed co-writer of “Alcarràs”.
With tributes to figures such as Ulrich Seidl and Meritxell Colell, and the participation of leading film personalities such as Liliana Torres, the festival positions itself as an unmissable event for discovering and understanding the future currents of cinema, in an atmosphere of celebration and artistic discovery.
