Festival “Cine fuera de lugar”

The Cine fuera de lugar series, part of the Muestra Internacional de Filmes de Mujeres de Barcelona, turns squares and public spaces into living screens where queer cinema takes centre stage. This edition brings its programme with a selection of films directed by and starring lesbians and bisexual women, by filmmakers who have shaped—and continue to shape—the history of cinema from a dissident perspective.

Through each screening, audiences enter narratives that break stereotypes, expand the imagination and invite us to see and experience desire, identity and love from new angles. An open-air festival that celebrates not only cinema but also the spaces where it can resist, shine and move us.

In July, as a closing finale, the series moves to Nou Barris with screenings of the award-winning works from Cortos en femenino 2026, a showcase of emerging talent that continues to broaden the horizon of stories that matter.

Cine fuera de lugar is not only a festival; it is a statement: there are other ways of seeing, telling and existing. And all of them have a place on screen.
