Blues & Ritmes Festival

The new edition retains that approach. It opens with Izo Fitzroy on 17 April, with a no-compromise blend of blues, gospel and soul. The first weekend continues with the return of Orchestra Baobab, once again building that bridge between Africa and the West, and with Ye Vagabonds, one of the finest voices in new Irish folk.

On 25 April, the focus shifts to Teatre Zorrilla with Rodney Crowell. His solo debut in Spain, in a trio format, is not just a visit: it is the arrival of someone who has defined a way of understanding country music without stridency.

Over the years, the festival has brought together names that rarely appeared on the same bill. That remains its key: not to repeat formulas, but to insist on more open listening. Here, music does not compete for attention. It earns the time.
