Barcelona International Architecture Film Festival ‘BARQ’
From 4 to 9 November, Barcelona will once again become a meeting point for film and architecture with a new edition of BARQ – International Architecture Film Festival. In its fourth instalment, the event consolidates its role as a space for reflection and creation, where stories built with plans and those told with images converse without hierarchies.
About this event
BARQ presents a carefully selected programme of documentaries not previously shown in Spain, from all corners of the world. Works that not only celebrate the formal beauty of buildings, but also examine the social, political and environmental structures that sustain them.
The programme is completed by talks, debates and workshops that invite the public to explore architecture beyond the technical: as a cultural, political and human act. Architects, filmmakers, urban planners and spectators will share the same space to rethink how we inhabit the world and how film can help us imagine it differently.
BARQ Festival is not just a showcase of films about architecture: it is an immersive experience that shows that every city is, at heart, a living film under constant construction.
