Barcelona International Jazz Day

On 26 April, the sound of jazz slips between the buildings of Passeig de Gràcia and turns the street into a stage without doors. For ten hours, between Gran Via and Plaça de Catalunya, Barcelona gives itself over to a rhythm that needs neither introduction nor protocol: it is enough to be there and let yourself go.

The day, framed within International Jazz Day, takes on a special character this year as it coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Barcelona Jazz Festival. It is not just a celebration, but also a reminder of a relationship the city has cultivated for decades with this musical language made of nuance and freedom.

The programme unfolds like a well-measured improvisation. From 12:00, with Sunset Rhythm Kings, until La Vella Dixieland closes at 20:45, the stage hosts proposals ranging from the most classic swing to contemporary sounds. In between, Quiet Colors, Glenda del E Q-ban Mixology, Laura Simó & Ignasi Terraza Trio and Momi Maiga trace a diverse journey, designed both for those seeking details and for those who simply want to be surprised.
