Open-air film festival “Barcelona en moviment 2025”
This summer, the Barcelona en moviment 2025 open-air film series offers three nights to rediscover the city through a female gaze. In its new edition, the festival pays tribute to women directors who have captured Barcelona from intimate, critical and deeply human angles. Three films, three stories, three ways of telling the city from within.
About this event
The programme begins on 28 June with Costa Brava (1995), by Marta Balletbò-Coll. In post-Olympic Barcelona, a tourist guide tries to rebuild her life among monologues, memories and new possibilities for love. Shot in the English original version and subtitled in Spanish, it is a jewel of sharp humour and melancholy.
On 4 July comes La imatge permanent (2023), by Laura Ferrés, a luminous reflection on identity and representation. Carmen, an advertising photographer, seeks “authentic people” on the city’s margins and ends up confronting her own limits and contradictions.
And on 11 July, Santa Bàrbara (2022), by Anaïs Pareto Onghena, focuses on migrant life in Barcelona. The unexpected arrival of the son of Bàrbara, a Bolivian woman who has built a new life here, triggers an encounter full of wounds, silences and hope.
All screenings will be at 21:30, with free admission by prior reservation. Three nights, three voices, a city in constant movement.
