2025 New Year’s Eve Party in Montjuïc

The 2025 New Year’s Eve Party in Montjuïc arrives this year with the pulse of a celebration that is not content simply to welcome 2026: it wants to reinvent the moment when one year ends and another begins. To do so, the City Council has entrusted Marc Parrot, who has created a sound and visual piece in which Catalan tradition does not appear as a memory, but as a driving force that pushes forward.

Avenida de la Reina Maria Cristina will become a corridor of transition: the place where the city leaves 2025 behind almost without realising it, absorbed by a show that transforms instruments such as tenoras, tiples, fiscorns and gralles into voices capable of coexisting with electronic textures and rhythms of tomorrow. It is neither a “remix” nor a conventional tribute: it is an unlikely encounter between sounds that never imagined hearing one another.

The show, produced by Groupe F, is structured in four movements —air, water, earth and fire— that function as an emotional reading of the Catalan territory. Each element illuminates a different landscape: the sky animated by drones, the fire that draws impossible geometries, the water recreated in fluid projections, the earth that resonates in instruments that come from afar.

Ten minutes before the chimes, the city will enter a crescendo that will not stop until ten minutes after 2026 has begun. That twenty-minute arc will be the heart of the night: an interval in which Barcelona seems to be suspended in time before leaping fully into the new year.

After the chimes, the party begins with a fireworks display.
