“Una història de... Picasso a Barcelona” course
The course “Una història de... Picasso a Barcelona” proposes returning to the years when the artist was not yet a myth, but a young man beginning to look at the world from the city. Framed within the “Territorio de creación” programme, the route focuses on the period Picasso lived in Barcelona, between the ages of 14 and 23, a decisive period in the construction of his identity.
About this event
Over several sessions at the Museu Picasso, the course paints a portrait of the artist through his work, interests and context. From his first steps to his departure for Paris, it traces a career marked by experimentation and the search for a language of his own.
The programme combines theoretical sessions with direct experiences. On the one hand, a guided visit to the museum collection offers an opportunity to explore more than 5,000 pieces documenting his training and development. On the other, a guided itinerary through the city revisits the places where he lived, learned and formed connections that would influence his work.
Taught by Anna Pou van den Bossche, the course does not limit itself to explaining Picasso, but proposes understanding how a city can shape an artist. An invitation to explore Barcelona through a perspective that is still present today.
