“Culture in the Digital Age” series
The Culture in the Digital Age series proposes analysing the place occupied by culture at a time marked by accelerated changes and new ways of exerting influence. Far from understanding it only as entertainment, the programme starts from its capacity to generate meaning, question discourses and contest symbolic power.
About this event
Digital transformation has changed the way content is produced, disseminated and consumed, but it has also favoured the emergence of new economic, media and political powers. Faced with this scenario, the series raises the need to develop critical tools to identify clichés, interested discourses and dynamics that tend to present themselves as inevitable.
The sessions thus address some of the tensions accompanying this change of era and claim culture as a territory for reflection and debate. At the centre lies a fundamental question: how to confront contemporary transformations without giving up the singularity of the human condition.
