«Solo Piano» Concert
«Solo Piano» is an invitation to stop time. Every Saturday, from 20:30 onwards, composer and pianist Luis de Arquer opens the doors of his own home to turn it into the setting for an intimate, delicate and almost secret evening. There, at El Teatre Més Petit del Món, music regains the proximity of old chamber concerts: the sound arrives unfiltered, just a few metres from the performer, and the experience becomes deeply personal.
About this event
De Arquer proposes a programme that combines classics —Chopin, Beethoven, Mozart— with his own pieces and a space for improvisation, his natural territory. That mixture, performed in a carefully nineteenth-century setting, creates an atmosphere that invites travel: not only through musical styles, but through emotions that emerge with unusual clarity in conventional auditoriums.
The concert is completed by a detail that makes it even more singular: after the performance, attendees enter a small 19th-century garden lit by candles, a conclusion that prolongs the calm and beauty of the recital.
It is no surprise that a The New York Times guide recommends this event as one of Barcelona’s most charming musical experiences. Solo Piano does not seek to dazzle with artifices; its charm lies in the essential: a piano, a performer and the possibility of truly listening.
