«Christmas at the Palau: Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker» concert

The concert offers a selection from the celebrated ballet suite — with such popular moments as the March, the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Waltz of the Flowers — and adds two languages that amplify the experience. Luis Posada’s narration in Catalan guides the story, while Borja González’s sand illustrations are created live and projected onto a screen, following the pulse of the music.

The combination of sound, word and image turns the evening into a living, delicate and intimate tale, in which Christmas fantasy takes shape before the audience’s eyes. All this takes place at the Palau de la Música, a venue with more than a century of history and exceptional acoustics, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. An ideal plan for celebrating Christmas by letting music and imagination do the rest.
