A brief history of film scores, hosted by CaixaForum Barcelona, invites audiences to pause over this dialogue between image and sound in order to understand how one of contemporary audiovisual culture’s most influential languages was born and evolved.
About this event
Across four talks, journalist and film educator Albert Beorlegui traces the history of film scores from silent cinema to contemporary compositions, focusing on the authors, styles and contexts that have defined each period. The journey makes it possible to discover how music went from accompanying screenings to becoming an essential element of cinematic storytelling.
Beyond nostalgia, the series invites audiences to listen to cinema with renewed attention and recognise the decisive role of composers who have helped expand the emotional dimension of films. An opportunity to understand why some melodies continue to live in memory long after the screen goes dark.
