La Plata concert at La Nau
Since bursting onto the Valencian scene in 2017, La Plata has done nothing but escape labels. They were called ‘post-punk’, but their music soon overflowed that box to settle in an undefined place: a sonic space that is neither rock nor electronic, neither analogue nor digital. A ‘non-place’ that only they inhabit and reinvent with each record.
About this event
On 31 January 2026, La Plata arrives at La Nau de Barcelona to present Interzona, their third album and perhaps their most ambitious to date. In it, the band — made up of María Gea, Patricia Ferragud, Miguel Carmona, Salvador Frasquet and Diego Escriche — brings together experiences and sounds gathered in other projects to shape a work that reaffirms its identity while dissolving it into new forms.
La Plata is a band pure in essence, but nonconformist in its trajectory. They never repeat a formula, never seek easy applause. With a growing legion of followers (and imitators who cannot match them), they continue travelling through their own creative interzone.
The concert forms part of Primavera Tours, Primavera Sound’s annual programme that brings the best of alternative music to the city’s venues. An unmissable date for those seeking more than a concert: a liminal experience.
