40th anniversary concert of the Premios Goya “The Power of Music in Cinema”
On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Premios Goya, CaixaForum Barcelona offers a look at one of cinema’s most decisive elements: its music. Under the title The Power of Music in Cinema, this series invites audiences to discover how soundtracks have accompanied, moved and shaped some of the most memorable images in the history of the seventh art.
About this event
Over the course of four talks, journalist and film expert Albert Beorlegui traces the evolution of film music from its first steps to the present day, focusing on the composers, aesthetic movements and contexts that have shaped its development. Far from being a mere accompaniment, the soundtrack appears here as a language in its own right, capable of transforming scenes and remaining in the collective memory long after the film ends.
The series proposes listening to cinema in another way: understanding how emotions are built through sound and recognising the essential role of those who have made music an inseparable part of the cinematic experience. An opportunity to rediscover cinema through what is not always seen, but is always felt.
