L’Auditori opening concert: Beethoven’s Ninth
L’Auditori’s new music season opens this weekend with a concert of the highest calibre: Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, a masterpiece that has become an anthem to fraternity and hope.

On Friday 3 and Saturday 4 October, both at 19:00, the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC), under the direction of Ludovic Morlot, will offer a programme combining Catalan tradition, Romantic lyricism and Beethoven’s universal power. The recital opens with the symphony from Sesostri, re d’Egitto (1751) by Domènec Terradellas, continues with La mort de Cléopâtre by Hector Berlioz, performed by soprano Joyce El-Khoury, and culminates with the Ninth Symphony, accompanied by the Orfeó Català and soloists Silvia Tro Santafé, René Barbera and Davone Tines.
With tickets between 25 and 55 euros, the concert promises to be one of the highlights of the autumn programme, offering audiences the opportunity to enjoy live one of the summits of universal music on the stage of L’Auditori de Barcelona.
