20th edition of the Municipal Conservatory of Music Concert at L’Auditori de Barcelona
The 20th edition of the Concert at L’Auditori de Barcelona presents itself as a date that highlights collective work and the musical training of a new generation of performers. On Saturday 18 April at 12:00, the stage welcomes the Symphony Orchestra, Band and Choirs of the Barcelona Municipal Conservatory of Music in a programme combining demanding repertoire and widely recognisable pieces.
About this event
The first part, performed by the Conservatory Band under the direction of Daniel Gómez, offers a journey moving between intensity and evocation: from Joaquín Rodrigo’s Adagio to the power of Holst’s Mars and the symbolic weight of Sibelius’s Finlandia.
In the second part, the Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Hurtado, together with the Choirs under the baton of Marcel Ortega, unfolds a contrast in character. Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 introduces virtuosity and dynamism, while Mendelssohn’s Psalm 42 opens a more introspective space, where voice and orchestra engage in dialogue.
With free admission and advance reservation, the concert offers not only live music, but also the opportunity to witness a moment of transition: the step from training to the professional stage.
