Christmas concert at the Museum of Archaeology of Catalonia
The Museum of Archaeology of Catalonia will celebrate the festive season with a concert that recovers Christmas's most human essence: unadorned voices, collective harmonies and songs passed down from generation to generation. The guest will be Coral Catasons, which will transform the museum into a resonant stage where popular carols come to life with no accompaniment other than the air and the acoustics of the venue.

Formed in Sabadell in 2001 and directed by Mariona Sánchez, Catasons brings together around sixty people who come from different worlds but share the same commitment: to sing with rigour while enjoying the process. It is not a professional choir, but its trajectory demonstrates an artistic ambition that has led it to perform throughout Catalonia and cross borders into France and País Valenciano, always with the desire to spread that choral energy which works best when experienced up close.
The repertoire they will present at the museum does not seek solemn tributes or displays of virtuosity: these are familiar, direct songs that connect with a shared emotional imagination. Sung a cappella, without artifice, they make it possible to hear how each voice takes its place in relation to the others, how it supports or withdraws to make room for another, and how, finally, a sonic fabric is created that could not exist individually.
The museum, accustomed to safeguarding remnants of other eras, thus becomes a perfect place for this celebration. Where silent objects normally reside, the choir proposes a different gesture: filling that emptiness with sung memory. A simple but vibrant concert, which does not aim to compete with Christmas spectacle, but to offer something rarer and more valuable: a moment of community.
