Tribute concert for victims of the DANA ‘Els pins de Roma’

Organised for Sunday 10 November, this special event will feature the Banda Municipal de Barcelona (BMB), conducted by maestro José R. Pascual-Vilaplana, and violinist Vlad Stanculeasa.

The concert will begin with a respectful minute of silence in memory of those affected by the natural disaster, followed by a repertoire combining classical pieces with profound symbolism. The musical selection includes works by Kurt Weill and Ottorino Respighi, whose notes will resound as a powerful tribute to resilience and recovery.

The central piece, Respighi’s ‘Pini di Roma’, will be performed as a symbolic conclusion, in a moving act in which musicians from the BMB, the Orquestra OBC and students from ESMUC will join on stage to perform Pedro Sosa’s ‘Lo Cant del Valencià’, offering a moment of unity and hope.

All funds raised during the concert will be allocated in full to support families affected by the DANA, through a special aid fund set up by Barcelona City Council. This gesture underlines the artistic community’s commitment to humanitarian causes and the power of music to heal and unite in times of need.
