Bia Ferreira Concert
Bia Ferreira will perform on Wednesday, 23 September in the plaza de Catalunya as part of BAM – Barcelona Acció Musical, during the La Mercè 2026 festivities. The Brazilian artist will present Améfrica, a project that uses music to explore the connections between Africa and Latin America.
About this event
The show takes its name from her latest album and focuses on the unity between peoples and on the languages born and transformed by African and Latin diasporas. Reggae serves as one of the meeting points in a proposal where identity, memory, and belonging take centre stage.
The concert will feature songs from Améfrica as well as pieces from previous works such as Igreja Lesbiteriana, um chamado and Faminta. In this way, Bia Ferreira will connect different stages of a career in which music serves both as artistic expression and as a space to address social and cultural issues.
