Inside the Baroque basilica of Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Merced, music takes on a different dimension. The concert «A. Vivaldi — The Four Seasons and more» offers an hour-long journey through some of the most recognisable pieces in the classical repertoire, performed by the Barcelona Classic Orchestra.
About this event
The programme is built around Antonio Vivaldi’s «The Four Seasons», with excerpts from spring and summer that enter into dialogue with works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven and Maurice Ravel. Among them, pieces such as the «Lacrimosa» from the Requiem, the «Air on the G String» and the «Bolero» trace a journey combining solemnity and energy.
The performance is supported by solo violinist Violeta Paulina Sánchez Villegas and soprano Ariadna Daniela Duarte, who bring nuance and depth to a repertoire conceived for live listening. The acoustics of the space, together with its architecture, envelop every note and turn the experience into something more than a concert.
