Film Time. The CineClub de CaixaForum: «Migracions»
Film Time. The CineClub de CaixaForum devotes one of its series to migration, approached through stories about displacement, identity, living together and the search for a place of one’s own. The programme understands cinema as a collective experience: each screening includes an expert introduction and continues with a discussion open to the public.
About this event
The series will begin on 17 September with West Side Story, where the conflict between two New York gangs reflects social and racial tensions. On 15 October, it will be the turn of El 47, inspired by the story of Manolo Vital and the neighbourhood struggle that transformed 1970s Barcelona. On 18 November, Minari. Historia de mi familia will follow a Korean family trying to build a new life in rural America in the 1980s.
The programme will conclude on 17 December with the short films Imade and Farrucas, two stories linked to roots and overcoming one’s own circumstances.
More than bringing films together under a single theme, the CineClub de CaixaForum proposes watching, reflecting on and discussing them together.
